Dear Patrons:

The PV Library Friends are happy to announce that the used book shelves at the Friends Alcove are being stocked with books for sale.

Starting September 1, we are accepting donations of 12 books per family on Tuesdays from 1:00 to 3:00. Books should be brought to the Alcove in the library to volunteers on duty there. Please do not leave books outside the library when it is closed or give to library staff.

Our library has very limited space for book storage, so we are starting with limited numbers of books.

Acceptable books are as follows: books in good condition, including children's books, cookbooks, fiction, nonfiction, travel, "coffee table" books.

We cannot accept damaged, heavily marked books, foreign language materials, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, manual's of any kind, test preparation books, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, games and toys.

Hoping to see you there, enjoying being back in the Library!

JoAnn Mitchell and Lin Pearlstein

Book Sales

The Friends’ Alcove at the library is filled with books for all ages and interests, and is refreshed weekly. Paperbacks start at $1.00, hardbacks at $2. Children’s hardbacks start at $1 and paperbacks at $.50.  Books are priced as marked.

Please pay using our little blue donation box. We use these funds to support and expand the programs and services of the Portola Valley Library.

Book Donations

We appreciate your donations and purchases, which enable us to support Library programs. We welcome gently read books of fiction and nonfiction, children’s books for all ages through young adult, cookbooks, and travel books no more than five years old.

We can no longer accept CDs or DVDs. We must also decline any torn or moldy books, as well as any textbooks, manuals, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and books in foreign languages.

Please bring all donations to the librarian at the main desk during library hours. Do not leave donations outside the library. Due to lack of storage, we cannot accept more than one box per donation.

Thank you for supporting your local library and visiting the Friends’ Alcove!
