Among the advocates of the Portola Valley Library, Louise Hamm stands out for her extraodinary 30-year tenure on the Friends’ board, including her service as the board president. A voracious reader, Louise often read three or four books a week.
With her good friend, Bunny Dawson, Louise championed children’s programs, working to develop life-long readers and learners among Portola Valley’s young students.
After her passing, her husband, Peter Hamm, make a very generous contribution in Louise’s memory. These monies have been added to FOPVL’s capital reserves, which are being shepherded toward the expansion of the Library facility.
